How do I become a vampire/werewolf?

In "The Elder Scrolls Online" game, you can't become a vampire or a werewolf from the start. To become a vampire, you need to get infected by another player. To become a werewolf, you need to get infected in-game and complete a quest to fully embrace your new form.

Introduction

Becoming a vampire or werewolf in the Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) adds an extra element to gameplay, offering new abilities and mechanics. In ESO, players can acquire these special forms through a process unique to each condition. Being a vampire enhances magical abilities, while being a werewolf boosts physical attributes. To undergo this transformation, specific quests, actions, or circumstances must be met.

Becoming a Vampire in ESO

To become a vampire in ESO, players can contract the “Sanies Lupinus” disease from Bloodfiends or contracted players. Bloodfiends appear in specific locations such as Reaper’s March, Bangkorai, and The Rift. Once infected with Sanies Lupinus, players must wait for a full in-game day to develop Vampirism. Alternatively, vampires can bite other players to transfer the vampiric condition, although this can only be done once in a week.

Upon contracting Vampirism in ESO, players face certain changes. Vampires receive beneficial and detrimental effects based on their stage of Vampirism. To progress through the four stages, players must feed on NPCs or other players, strengthening their powers but also bolstering their weaknesses. Stage 4 carries the most significant bonuses and penalties.

Players can cure Vampirism in ESO if they find the condition no longer suits their playstyle. This can be done by visiting a priest in the Mages Guild, Fighters Guild, or even the Crown Store. Removing Vampirism resets its progression, allowing the player to try out different playstyles.

Becoming a Werewolf in ESO

To become a werewolf in ESO, players must get bitten by another player who possesses lycanthropy or stumble upon a Werewolf NPC in the wilderness. Once bitten, players contract Sanies Lupinus, a disease causing the transformation into a werewolf after a full in-game day has passed. Similar to Vampirism, players can only infect others with lycanthropy once a week.

Upon becoming a werewolf in ESO, players experience a shift in gameplay. Werewolves possess unique abilities enhancing their physical combat prowess. Players can transform into werewolf form, gaining access to a distinct skill line that complements various combat styles. Be mindful that players must manage their werewolf time efficiently, as transformation is temporary and has a cooldown period.

If players no longer wish to be werewolves in ESO, there is a cure available. Similar to Vampirism, players can seek a cure in the Mages Guild, Fighters Guild, or through the Crown Store. Curing lycanthropy resets any werewolf skill progress but allows players the flexibility to explore other gameplay options.

Conclusion

In ESO, becoming a vampire or werewolf adds an extra layer of depth to gameplay, providing players with unique abilities and challenges. Each transformation process involves specific steps, from contracting the disease to managing the condition's progression. Whether players choose to embrace Vampirism or lycanthropy, the option to cure these conditions remains available to accommodate evolving playstyles.
