How to get wolf armor?

In Valheim, to get wolf armor, you need to first defeat the boss Moder in the Mountain biome to obtain a special resource called 'Wolf Pelts'. These pelts are then used to craft the Wolf Armor set at the Forge. This armor provides good protection and is essential for exploring harsher biomes.

Exploring the Black Forest

In Valheim, one of the first steps in obtaining wolf armor is to head to the Black Forest biome which is characterized by its dense vegetation, tall pine trees, and hostile creatures. Make sure you are well-prepared before entering this dangerous biome as you may encounter trolls, skeletons, and other aggressive enemies. It is recommended to have at least iron-tier gear and weapons before venturing into the Black Forest.

Hunting Wolves for Pelts

Once in the Black Forest, you need to hunt wolves to obtain wolf pelts. Wolves can be found roaming the forest in packs, and they are aggressive creatures that will attack you on sight. Engage them carefully, ensuring you have enough health and stamina to deal with their attacks. Defeat the wolves and collect the wolf pelts they drop as loot. You will need a sufficient number of wolf pelts to craft the wolf armor set, so be prepared for multiple hunting trips.

Use a Tanning Rack

After collecting the necessary amount of wolf pelts, you will need to process them using a tanning rack. Build a tanning rack in your base by unlocking the recipe with the necessary materials such as deer hide and flint. Place the wolf pelts in the tanning rack to turn them into wolf pelts, which are the primary material required for crafting the wolf armor set.

Crafting the Wolf Armor Set

With the wolf pelts prepared, you can now craft the pieces of the wolf armor set at a level 2 workbench. The wolf armor set consists of three pieces: the wolf cape, wolf armor chest, and wolf armor leggings. Each piece provides valuable protection and bonuses that can enhance your survivability in the harsh world of Valheim. Ensure you have all the necessary resources and materials at hand before attempting to craft the wolf armor set.

Bonus Tips and Considerations

It is essential to note that the wolf armor set is a mid to late-game equipment that offers significant upgrades compared to earlier armor sets. Apart from providing protection, the wolf armor set offers improved resistances and bonuses that can give you an edge in combat situations. Make sure to upgrade your workbench to level 2 to unlock the ability to craft the wolf armor set and consider enhancing your weapons and gear to increase your chances of success in hunting wolves and surviving in the Black Forest.
