How do arcanes work and where can I get them?

Arcanes are special enhancements in Warframe that provide various passive bonuses. They can be obtained by completing Eidolon hunts on the Plains of Eidolon or through trading with other players in the game. Once acquired, they can be equipped on Warframe helmets and syandanas to boost the player's abilities.

Understanding Arcanes in Warframe

Arcanes in Warframe are unique enhancements that players can equip on their Warframes, weapons, operator amps, and companions to provide various passive bonuses and effects. There are two types of arcanes in the game: Arcanes for Warframes, weapons, and companions; and Arcanes for Operator Amps. Each arcane has a specific effect or bonus that can significantly alter gameplay and provide advantages in combat.

Obtaining Arcanes

Arcanes can be obtained through a variety of methods in Warframe:

1. Eidolon Hunts: One of the primary ways to obtain arcanes is through Eidolon Hunts in the Plains of Eidolon. Players can defeat the Eidolons to earn Arcanes, with each Eidolon dropping specific arcanes.

2. Arbitrations: Players can earn arcanes by participating in Arbitrations, a high-level endgame mission type that offers exclusive rewards, including arcanes.

3. The Quills: The Quills Syndicate in Cetus offers players the ability to purchase arcanes in exchange for Standing earned by completing Eidolon Hunts.

4. Onkko: Onkko also offers arcanes in exchange for Eidolon Shards, which are obtained by defeating the Eidolons in the Plains of Eidolon.

5. Trading: Players can trade arcanes with other players in the game using the in-game trading system, allowing them to obtain specific arcanes they need for their builds.

Equipping Arcanes

To equip arcanes on your Warframe, weapon, operator amp, or companion, you will need to visit the Foundry in your Orbiter. From there, select the equipment you wish to enhance with an arcane and click on the Arcane tab. Here, you can select the arcane you want to equip from your inventory. Each piece of equipment has a specific number of arcane slots available, so make sure to choose arcanes that best suit your playstyle and build.

Arcane Enhancements

When you equip multiple instances of the same arcane on your Warframe, weapon, or companion, it will trigger a set bonus. For example, equipping two instances of the same arcane with a set bonus of "On Headshot, +30% Critical Chance for 9 seconds" will trigger the bonus when you land a headshot.

It's important to note that the effectiveness of arcanes can vary depending on the type of build you are running and the playstyle you prefer. Experimenting with different combinations of arcanes can help you find the optimal setup for your playstyle and enhance your overall gaming experience in Warframe.
